Today, I visited Gongqing Forest Park, reputedly the crown jewel of Shanghai's parks.

You can enter from the south gate and grab a map at the entrance. The park is vast, but with the map, you won't get lost. Park Introduction: As a park characterized by its forest landscape, Gongqing Forest Park has planted more than 200 species of trees, totaling over 300,000. Currently, a flower exhibition is being held, with various types of flowers blooming in competition, creating a picturesque scene at every step that is a feast for the eyes. About the Park: The park not only has a cinematic Tree Adventure Park, a racecourse, but also a popular check-in spot, Monet Garden, and a forest train. We visited the following places: South Gate Fir Forest → East Gate Flower Sea → Hydrangea Garden Monet Flower Garden → Pastoral Pavilion → Pine Valley → Water Forest Wetland → Camphor Square and back to the South Gate. We recommend choosing a sunny day for your visit. Upon entering from the south gate, you will see a large fir forest. You can bring a picnic mat and some snacks and fruits for a picnic. You can also set up a hammock or a camping tent. There are sporadic wildflowers in the forest, and occasionally butterflies and dragonflies fly by. Lying in the sun is really comfortable. It is recommended to carry a backpack for convenience. Also, open fires are prohibited in the forest. The amusement park also has many attractions such as roller coasters, carousels, archery, rock climbing, etc. For us adults, the most favorite should be the forest train. The train will pass through the forest and small rivers, allowing you to experience the beauty of nature. Those who want to ride horses can experience the fun of horse riding at the racecourse. However, the racecourse has a bit of a smell, so those who mind may not want to go. Next to the racecourse, you can take your children to catch small fish in the river. There is also a large lawn in the center of the park where you can fly kites. After flying a kite, you can rent a boat nearby. There are electric and hand-cranked ones. Personally, I think the hand-cranked boat is more fun. There are also cute little ducks in the lake. The breeze from the lake and the golden sunlight on the lake surface are really beautiful. For those who like to take photos, you can wear white or light-colored clothes. The beautiful Monet Garden, the large lawn of the forest wetland, the wildflowers full of the forest, and the various fallen trees in the forest, as well as the chairs by the lake, are all great places for photography.
