The cathedral at the top of Sheshan Mountain in Shanghai was once the largest cathedral in the Far East

Since the Ming Dynasty, Shanghai has been heavily influenced by Western culture. The first church was established in Xujiahui, Shanghai, and later churches and observatories were built on the top of West Sheshan Mountain. The construction continued to expand, eventually forming the current architectural complex at the top of Sheshan Mountain. The cathedral at the top is very majestic, a complete Western Catholic church style, and is a landmark building in the Sheshan area. East and West Sheshan are currently a free park, and the cathedral at the top also offers free visits to tourists. It is considered one of the famous tourist attractions in Songjiang, Shanghai.
