We were filled with excitement as we boarded the plane, eager to explore the city's iconic landmarks, vibrant culture, and delicious cuisine. Our first stop was the Bund, a waterfront promenade that offered breathtaking views of the city skyline. We stood in awe of the Oriental Pearl Tower, the Shanghai World Financial Center, and the iconic Jin Mao Tower, their majestic silhouettes piercing the azure sky. Next, we ventured into the heart of the city to visit the Yu Garden, a classical Chinese garden with intricate pavilions, winding pathways, and koi-filled ponds. We strolled through the serene gardens, marveling at the intricate craftsmanship and captivating natural beauty. Our culinary adventure began with a visit to a traditional Shanghainese restaurant, where we savored authentic dishes such as xiao long bao (soup dumplings), Shanghainese hairy crab, and braised pork belly in soy sauce. The flavors were simply exquisite, tantalising our taste buds and leaving us wanting more. One of the highlights of our trip was visiting the Shanghai Museum, which houses a vast collection of Chinese art and artefacts. We were amazed by the ancient jade carvings, exquisite porcelain, and intricate calligraphy. The museum offered a glimpse into China's rich history and culture, leaving us with a deeper appreciation for this fascinating country. Our class trip to Shanghai was an unforgettable experience, filled with exhilarating adventures, cultural discoveries, and gastronomical delights.
