[Mount Shakotan] The most spectacular view on the Shakotan Peninsula!

It takes about 6 hours round trip from the mountain hut (accessible by car). There is almost no view until the summit, but when you arrive, you will be surprised to see a panoramic view from Cape Shakotan to Cape Kamui, with the Niseko mountain range in front and Hokkaido's largest isolated peak, Mt. Yotei, in the distance. (If the weather is good, you can even see Otaru.) If you are going to climb, it is recommended to go now, when the wind is relatively weak, from July to early August. This is also an area where brown bears appear, so be careful when climbing.
