Spanish Square

The Plaza de España was built in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929, and is a typical representative of the new Renaissance architecture style in Spanish architecture. The Plaza de España is semi-circular and is the most easily recognizable building in Seville, Spain, and is a miniature of Spanish Moorish Renaissance architecture. The square is surrounded by a semi-circular red brick building, with high towers at both ends of the arc, which looks very unique. The continuous buildings surround the edge of the square, and can be reached through many beautiful bridges over the moat. On the walls of the square, there are many niches, each representing a different province of Spain, describing the myriad of styles of each city in Spain.
