Seoul's Timeless Stroll - Changdeokgung Palace

For this trip to Seoul, I specifically chose to visit Changdeokgung Palace in winter. On the day it snowed, the entire palace was covered in white snow, creating a serene and poetic atmosphere. There weren't many people around, and the whole place was filled with a classical romance. My friends who came along all agreed that Changdeokgung was the most memorable stop of the trip. Changdeokgung Palace was built in 1405 and was originally a secondary palace of the Joseon Dynasty. Later, it became a favored residence for successive monarchs and is said to be the best-preserved among the five grand palaces. The entire complex is built along the natural terrain, making it less symmetrical but more in harmony with nature, which is why it's often called the most beautiful 'natural palace.' I particularly enjoyed the feeling of quietly walking around and sensing the traces of history, especially when it was snowing, as it was so quiet that I could only hear my own breathing. There are several key spots worth exploring slowly, such as Injeongjeon Hall, the Queen's Daejojeon Hall, and Nakseonjae Hall, where the last royal family of the Joseon Dynasty lived. After visiting, it's hard not to imagine what their lives were like back then. The Secret Garden is also a must-see. Although it requires an additional ticket (about HKD 38), it's well worth it. The scenery is tranquil and beautiful, very healing. However, remember to book in advance as the number of visitors is limited. The entrance fee is about HKD 24, which is quite affordable, and it's not easy to find such a beautiful and quiet place. Next time I visit Seoul, I want to experience it again in spring or autumn, which should be another kind of beauty.
