#fallvibes Jeju Island is truly a sight to behold, boasting a mesmerizing beauty that captivated us during our visit. One of the memorable destinations we explored was the Oedolgae Rock. This natural wonder serves as a picturesque photo spot and it also offers trails for trekking. In Korean, the name "Oedolgae" carries a poetic meaning, signifying a "lone rock pillar." It has an origin that dates back to a volcanic eruption that occurred 150,000 years ago. Beyond its geological significance, Oedolgae is steeped in folklore, telling the tale of an elderly woman who, in her enduring wait for her husband's return, was transformed into this very rock. Connected to the coast by a scenic coastal pathway, Oedolgae Rock also stands as a prime location for watching the sunset. Our timing couldn't have been better; we arrived in the late afternoon and were fortunate enough to witness the sun's gradual descent beneath the horizon. Our proximity to Seogwipo made our trip all the more convenient, as it's merely a short 6-minute car ride or a leisurely 22-minute walk from our hotel.
