Trip to Semarang 🇮🇩

It was a trip to Semarang, Indonesia. Just want to share some of the places that I have visited. I started my trip at Lawang Sewu, and I can't recommend it enough 🙌 This historical building is full of stories. Its architecture is mesmerizing, with hundreds of doors and windows that seem endless. If you're interested in history or just love exploring unique places, this should be your first stop. 📍Jl. Pemuda, Sekayu, Semarang Tengah, Kota Semarang, Jawa Tengah. 💰IDR 10,000 - IDR 20,000. I also wandered through Kota Lama, the Old Town of Semarang. The area has a charming, vintage feel, with well-preserved colonial buildings. I visited the Blenduk Church, an octagonal-shaped Protestant church that’s an architectural gem. 📍Jl. Letjen Suprapto No.32, Tj. Mas, Semarang Utara, Kota Semarang, Jawa Tengah. 💰Free. I stopped at Spiegel Bar & Bistro for lunch and absolutely loved their "Nasi Goreng Kampung" – the fried rice was fragrant and flavorful. If you're in the mood for something different, the "Rendang Beef Burger" is a unique twist that you must try 🍔 💰IDR 60,000 - IDR 150,000 per person. 📍 Jl. Letjen Suprapto No.34, Tj. Mas, Semarang Utara, Kota Semarang, Jawa Tengah. I also spent my afternoon at Sam Poo Kong Temple, an incredibly vibrant and beautiful Chinese temple complex. The atmosphere is peaceful, and it's a great place to learn about the history of Chinese Admiral Cheng Ho. Don’t forget to take some photos here; the architecture is stunning 📸 📍Jl. Simongan No.129, Bongsari, Semarang Barat, Kota Semarang, Jawa Tengah. 💰IDR 15,000 - IDR 30,000. For dinner, I would recommend you to try Toko Oen, a nostalgic restaurant that has been around since the Dutch colonial era. I had their signature "Beef Steak," which was cooked to perfection, and paired it with their homemade ice cream for dessert 🍨 . The place is perfect for soaking in old-world charm. 💰IDR 50,000 - IDR 120,000 per person. 📍Jl. Pemuda No.52, Sekayu, Semarang Tengah, Kota Semarang, Jawa Tengah. I also took a morning drive to Umbul Sidomukti, a beautiful mountain resort with natural pools and stunning views. The cool air and serene environment were a refreshing change. I tried their flying fox and trekking routes, which were exhilarating. 📍Jl. Goa Jepang, Jimbaran, Bandungan, Semarang. 💰 IDR 10,000 - IDR 20,000. I visited the Pagoda Avalokitesvara, a striking seven-story pagoda that offers a calm and serene atmosphere. The gardens are beautifully maintained, and it’s a perfect place to chill. 📍Jl. Perintis Kemerdekaan, Pudakpayung, Banyumanik, Kota Semarang, Jawa Tengah. Lastly, I also took a trip to Brown Canyon, which reminded me of the Grand Canyon with its unique rock formations.
