The Roman Aqueduct of Segovia (Acueducto de Segovia) is an engineering marvel that spans thousands of years. This aqueduct, built in the first century AD, is made of more than 20,000 pieces of granite without the use of any mortar, yet it still stands firmly in the heart of the city. The towering double arches and neatly arranged stones demonstrate the outstanding architectural technology of ancient Rome and also bear witness to the glorious history of this city. Walking under the aqueduct and looking up at this historical relic, one can almost imagine how the Romans at that time cleverly brought clear springs from the mountains into the city to supply the daily needs of the residents.
