Wat Dulyaram

Wat Dulyaram 🙏🏻🛕 Formerly known as Wat Ban Chin, it is a temple for the people, located in Village 2, Ban Chin, Tambon Chalung, Mueang Satun District, Satun Province. Wat Dulyaram has a sacred Buddha image of the city, which is the Buddha image of Luang Pho Kae or Pho Kae. It is a Buddha image in the attitude of forbidding relatives. It is carved from wood by Lanna craftsmen. It is 75 centimeters high and features Lanna Buddhist art. It is similar to Phra Kaen Chan, which has a woman’s face, similar to Phra Somdej Nang Phaya or Phra Na Nang. It is believed to be the Buddha image of a Chinese junk carrying goods that traveled across the sea. It is said that in 1913-1936, the Buddha image of Luang Pho Kae floated in the water. Someone found it and offered it to the temple. In 1913-1936, during the time of Abbot Plod, the villagers told us that someone saw it floating in Khlong Chalung, north of the village. It is important to the community. Luang Pho Kae has shown miraculous sacredness that has been evident continuously. It is famous in the southern provinces, even Malaysians.
