Transportation tips: Hokkaido Jingu Shrine is located in Maruyama Park in Sapporo. From Sapporo Station, take the Nanboku Line to Odori Station, transfer to the Tozai Line and get off at Maruyama Park Station. It is about a 15-minute walk to the Shrine. The city bus circular bus No. 20, West 14, and West 15 get off at Jingumae Station. For those who drive, there are Minami-ichi Parking Lot and Kita-ichi Parking Lot. If you come on weekdays, there are more than enough parking spaces. There are several important torii gates at Hokkaido Jingu Shrine. Most tourists who arrive by subway enter from the "Maruyama Park Exit Torii Gate". This section is an uphill section and passes three small shrines along the way before reaching the main shrine. The second torii gate is far from the subway station, so you can take a taxi here and get off. Walk past the torii gate and enter a long Omotesando, with many Somei Yoshino cherry trees and Ezoyama cherry trees planted on both sides. The main shrine is at the end.
