Bulgaria - Seven Rila Lakes

Day 4 of our road trip. We went for a hike at the Seven Rila Lakes. We took the Chair Lift up to the midpoint of the snow-covered mountain where we began our hike to the top. The Chair Lift ride was quite long, about 20 minutes. The scenery during the ride was fantastic. It cost 30 Lev per adult and 15 Lev for kids 12 and under. Well worth it. The hike started at the end of the Chair Lift ride, up a long slope with stony pathways. We were all mesmerized by the amazing scenery of the snow-covered landscape and mountains above the clouds. On our return path, the sun was setting, covering the landscape with a golden coat. We took about 5 hours round trip and saw 5 of the seven lakes. The last two were too far away, and the hike up the mountain looked challenging without the right gear and equipment.
