A Last Minute Stay

#asiatrip Located in the Sanya Bay Area, just a 10-15 minute drive from Sanya Phoenix International Airport, we booked this hotel after having to move during the covid situation in Sanya. Overall, it was a good stay. Staff were friendly and welcoming and as helpful as could be when we had some issues that we couldn’t solve on our own. The hotel is actually split into two sections. On one side of the road is the lobby, restaurant, and other facilities (that were pretty non-functional during our stay), on the opposite side of the road was a complex of little villas in which are the individual hotel rooms that surround a beautiful pool. The little villa that our hotel room was towards the back of the hotel room complex, and was just across the road from the beach access - it was perfect! We didn’t get to experience the restaurants properly due to the pandemic situation, for our complimentary breakfast that was included in our stay, we only got a pre-packaged selection of items like baozi, shaomai, congee. banana bread and small cartons of milk. But it was nice of them to still package the food up for us. One big downfall was the gym. When hotel staff directed us to the gym facilities, we did not expect to find such unusable facilities. Out of all the hotels we stayed in, this was quite possibly the worst yet. It was totally non-functional, machines were rusting, everything turned off or dirty. When I tried to use the treadmill, it went from 0-20mph in a matter of a second which could have been dangerous had I been standing on the machine - and there was no warning signage or word from hotel staff before we went in to say machines were not to be used…Hopefully this will all be fixed sooner rather than later…
