Xisha Antelope Reef

Lingyang Reef is located in the southwest of Yongle Atoll, Xisha Islands, Sansha City, Hainan Province, China. It is a small triangular atoll in the southwest corner of Yongle Atoll, about 90 kilometers away from Yongxing Island, the capital of Sansha City. This small atoll is also very large. It will be submerged at high tide, and ships are prone to hit reefs and sink. Most of it can be exposed to the water at low tide. This small atoll is triangular in shape and has no access to the sea. It is a closed atoll. There is a sandbar in the southeast of the reef, which will not be submerged unless there is a very high tide. It is made of white coral sand and is about 2 meters above the water surface. The water depth of the lagoon is less than 1 meter. The reef piers (point reefs) are covered with a variety of colorful corals that look like an underwater garden, and the reef blocks on the reef edge are rugged. The waters around Antelope Reef are one of the most difficult routes to navigate in the Xisha Islands. The transportation difficulties have led to a severe shortage of resources on the island.
