🇳🇿Otago Peninsula｜Get up close and personal with penguins, sea lions, seals and seabirds all at once!

If you ask me what is the most unforgettable memory of traveling in the South Island, I would say it is the Otago Peninsula. It was probably the first and only time in my life that I came into such close contact with various rare animals, including huge sea lions, seals and seabirds. It was very shocking! Otago Peninsula is located on the east coast of South Island, an hour's drive from Dunedin. It has a beautiful coastline🌊 and is also a world-renowned wildlife protection site. The endangered Royal Albatross lives here. I still remember observing the yellow-eyed penguins🐧 on tiptoe, fearing that I would accidentally scare them. I waited for a long time and just looked at each other from a distance. I also remember holding my breath to secretly take pictures of sleeping sea lions🦭seals, because if I accidentally annoyed them, I might be kicked. When one of them really strode close, I felt like my heart was about to jump out, and I ran away. I will never forget hiding in the cabin built by the conservation organization, peeping at these babies through the small gap, as if I was a thief. Such precious memories make me smile when I think of them. The Otago Peninsula is like the end of the world, and the endless sense of vastness is still unforgettable. I highly recommend it❤️
