Before May 29, 2023, the second floor exhibition is free 🔷After entering the museum, go straight to the 7th floor - the exhibition about the polar, glacier and climate 'Erratic' 'Erratic' is a huge stone that is drifted far away by melting glaciers. Charriere drills the rock core in the way of drilling ice cores. Each drilling makes the huge stone lighter and more fragile - a metaphor for the current environmental crisis. Only when people squat down can they see the hollow and fragile of the huge stone. The polar ice core seals the climate history and geological history, and the stone cores arranged on the ground like rollers hint at an ancient way of transporting heavy objects. Charriere seems to be linking the process of human and earth interaction with the similarity of forms. In front of the flashback background of the night glacier snowstorm, watching the form of water, being dominated by the sound hanging above the head, moving repeatedly, feeling different sound effects at different standing points, as if walking through ice caves, glaciers, ice waterfalls, oceans, snowstorms, imagining the power of ten thousand jun in the crazy snowflakes. The music chanting in the horn is constantly reshaped by the light, architecture, and city sound of San Francisco. Seagulls seem to like listening to music, sitting steadily under the sound, and there is a lonely seagull squatting round and round between the glass skyscrapers - hiding outside the sea, and the Blue Sail downstairs responds from afar - the wind is sailing on the blue scarf.
