Mon Jong, Omkoi, I give this trip a 10000000/10. It's really great. The weather is superb. The journey is about 3-4 km. The view is so good you want to shout out loud. Doi Mon Jong is located in Nan Province, under the care of the Mu Sue Unit, Wildlife Sanctuary of Omkoi. There are several ways to start your trip to Mon Jong. If you travel by yourself, you start by contacting the unit to request permission, declare your intentions, number of people, number of porters, and prepare four-wheel drive vehicles, food, and drinks. My group chose to use the services of a trekking tour company, which are available from many operators. The tour company arranges everything from contacting the officials, food, tents, sleeping bags, etc. For the starting point of the journey, you have to take a four-wheel drive from the parking area, passing through rough dirt roads for about an hour to reach the starting point for Doi Mon Jong. Get your luggage organized and have lunch. If you ask whether you can drive up by yourself, I would strongly advise against it, as the starting point for the trek is deep in the forest with no one to look after your car. Moreover, the path is not easy. If you are not familiar with the route, do not risk it. Some parts of the road are next to deep ravines. The best way is to park your car at the Mu Sue Unit and use the four-wheel drive service from the locals for safety.
