A Spring Date with Maruoka Castle In the early spring when cherry blossoms first bloom, I set off on a journey to Maruoka Castle in Fukui Prefecture, Japan, to meet with ancient history and romantic cherry blossoms. Following the travel tips, I set off from JR Awara Onsen Station, took the Keifuku Bus bound for Eiheiji, and soon arrived at Maruoka Castle Station. As soon as I got off the bus, I was greeted by an ancient atmosphere, as if I had traveled back in time. Built in the Momoyama period, Maruoka Castle is like a silent old man, quietly telling stories of the past. The two-story, three-tiered castle tower is one of the oldest in Japan. It is solemn and simple, and every brick and stone, every texture, carries a heavy historical memory, making me admire the wisdom and skills of the ancients. But what fascinates me most is the cherry blossoms of Maruoka Castle. More than 400 cherry trees in the castle are in full bloom, like clouds and mist. As I walked through the castle, the spring breeze gently brushed by, and the petals fell like snow, falling on my shoulders and hair. At that moment, time seemed to stand still, and the whole world was enveloped in this romantic pink. I walked slowly, sometimes stopping to admire the beautiful picture of the castle tower and cherry blossoms complementing each other. The hard lines of the ancient buildings were softened and poetic by the cherry blossoms. Sometimes I reached out to catch the falling petals and felt the unique tenderness of spring. In Maruoka Castle, history and nature blend perfectly. The ancient castle tower has witnessed countless changes, while the cherry blossoms have injected vitality and vigor into the ancient city. This visit to Maruoka Castle not only allowed me to appreciate the beauty of cherry blossoms in spring, but also allowed me to touch the deep historical context, becoming an unforgettable memory of my journey.
