Discover the sights of Saint-Jean-de-Luz

Saint-Jean-de-Luz is a town in the Basque region of France, near the Spanish border. This town is small, but it's the perfect place for sightseeing, as it's the town where Louis XIV and Maria Teresa got married, the birthplace of macarons, the birthplace of espadrilles, and the town of Basque linen. It's also the most lively in the summer, as it has a beach. The church where Louis XIV got married has a simple exterior, but the inside is magnificent! The mansion where Louis XIV stayed was also open to the public, but it seems that admission was split up into groups about once an hour, so I gave up because I didn't have time. I bought some macarons at the famous shop Maison Adam, but they were completely different from the macarons I usually eat! If anything, they were like caramelized candy that had been baked incorrectly. The main street, lined with cute buildings, is the perfect place to buy various Basque specialties.
