What’s up with the Water God Guangren King? He’s laughing so hard he’s crowing + wildly slapping his thigh

Introduction to Guangren King Temple: Guangren King Temple is located in Longquan Village, Guwei Town, 3 kilometers north of Ruicheng County, Shanxi Province. It is named after the Water God "Guangren King" worshipped inside the temple. It is also called "Wulong Temple" because five dragon springs originally flowed in front of the temple. It is one of the four existing wooden structures from the Tang Dynasty in China. Behind the temple are the northern city walls of ancient Guwei City, backed by Zhongtiao Mountain, creating a serene environment. On June 25, 2001, it was announced by the State Council as a national key cultural relic protection unit. The Guangren King Temple faces south, with a stage and main hall built along the central axis of the courtyard. The main hall was built in the fifth year of the Tang Dahe era (831 AD) and is the earliest existing Taoist temple building in China, 49 years later than the main hall of Nanchan Temple on Mount Wutai, and 26 years earlier than the east main hall of Foguang Temple. The hall’s bay spacing, depth, beam frame, and dougong brackets are all original Tang Dynasty structures, which is very precious. The stage is a Qing Dynasty building facing north and is also an important cultural relic. Guangren King Temple currently has two Tang Dynasty commemorative steles. One is the "Guangren King Longquan Record" from the third year of the Tang Yuanhe era (808 AD), which records the county official Yu Gong’s construction of water conservancy at Longquan in the north of the county to benefit the people. The other is the "Longquan Record" written by Zheng Ze, the magistrate of Ruicheng County in the sixth year of the Tang Dahe era (832 AD), which also records the officials’ creation of the Longquan Guangren King Temple, water conservancy projects, and local people’s rain prayers. According to the inscriptions, Guangren King Temple is the earliest existing site for dragon king worship starting in the early Tang Dynasty and is the earliest surviving Taoist temple building dedicated to the dragon king. It holds great significance for studying the agricultural culture, water conservancy construction, and water god worship in Hedong.
