When it comes to hot spring destinations in New Zealand, Rotorua is undoubtedly one of the top spots! In addition to numerous paid hot spring facilities, the area also boasts some secret free natural hot springs (Hot Streams), offering a more authentic and nature-connected soaking experience. This time, we visited one of the locals' favorite natural hot spring spots: Kerosene Creek or Hot & Cold Stream, both located within a 15–30 minute drive from the city center, making them easily accessible. After parking by the roadside, it's just a few minutes' walk to reach the springs. ✅ Highlights: • Hot spring water naturally emerges from underground, flowing into small streams and blending with the creek water to create the perfect temperature. • Sit among the rocks or beside fallen logs, soak your feet in the warm water, and enjoy the soothing sound of the flowing stream—it's incredibly relaxing.
