From the Dyson humidifier on the bedside table (which is really out of place), to the mirror telling you that something happened abroad just as you were about to wash your face (built-in screens are common, but not this big), to the first time you see a room with Chinese and English labels telling you that you've reached the cloakroom, to the wardrobe at the entrance that opens to reveal the electrical box. The dramatic climax is when you go for a walk after dinner and find that just a few streets away from the hotel, there is a huge "Truman" Summer Palace. There are no actors here, in fact, there are not many people, but it always gives you a sense of reality TV.
