Ronda: Perched on a cliff.

The small town of Ronda is located in the Malaga Province of Andalusia in southern Spain and Europe. It has a long history that can be traced back to the Roman Empire. The town is located on a cliff and the terrain is dangerous. On September 22, 2024, we drove more than 200 kilometers from Seville to visit this "city built in the clouds." Wandering along the stone paths of the town (photos 3-6), I feel that they carry the footsteps of "passers-by" from multiple ethnic groups for more than ten centuries—— Celts, Greeks, Moors... The arrival of the Romans brought prosperity and construction to Ronda. The magnificent walls and houses they left behind are mostly in ruins today... Walking among the ruins of past dynasties, it seems that you can hear the hustle and bustle of the past. These ancient ruins are not only witnesses of time, but also treasures of civilization! The famous Ronda New Bridge spans the El Tajo Canyon and connects the old and new cities. It was the first attraction we checked in (Photos 1-2). Ronda is the hometown of Spanish matadors. It not only has one of the oldest bullrings in Spain, but also preserves several statues about bullfights and matadors (Photos 16-19).
