The first stop crossing the Indian Ocean: Hilton Mauritius

Departing from the Netherlands, transferring in Rome, and then flying for a full 10 hours, we finally landed in Mauritius! We rented a car in advance, picked it up after getting off the plane, and drove straight to the Hilton on the west coast 🌴 As soon as we entered the hotel, there was a warm welcome ceremony. Then the front desk staff took us to the sofa to rest for a bit while they checked us in with our passports. During this time, the hotel manager came over to greet us warmly, and the server handed us iced tea and face towels (with a light lemon cinnamon scent, instantly refreshing and relieving fatigue 🍃). The whole process was smooth and comfortable. Because we are Hilton Gold members, our room was upgraded for free from the booked Grande Deluxe to a Family Suite (the last few photos show the room and the view from the balcony), enhancing the experience even more. The hotel also gave us free drink vouchers for cocktails and beer, which can be enjoyed at the Sunset Beach next to the front desk. After check-in, we received a hotel activity guide listing daily free activities available for reservation (tennis, diving, kayaking, beach volleyball, yoga, etc.). The infinity pool + sunset beach 🏖️ is also the most photogenic spot here. Hilton has four restaurants: French, Indian, Thai, and a buffet. We booked a half-board package, which includes daily breakfast + half-board dinner. The room TV shows the menu for each restaurant and the daily buffet dishes, so you can plan which restaurants to eat at in advance. But during peak season, be sure to make reservations early 📅 The next post will share about the hotel's Thai restaurant, Ginger Thai.
