[Rome, Italy] The lovely San Giacchino Church

#FreeHotelStay This church doesn't appear in Japanese guidebooks, but I want to introduce it because it's so cute. This church was built by architect Raffaele Ingami at the command of Pope Leo XIII Pecci to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his inauguration as a priest. The entire church is decorated with colorful marble and metal furnishings, giving it a glittering impression. On both sides, there are 14 chapels dedicated to the Catholic countries that helped build the church, and the round stained glass with floral patterns is cute. It's a shame that the lighting is generally dim, probably because there are few tourists. My favorite part is the cupola, made of aluminum and decorated with crystal stars.
