Phra Kona Shrine, Roi Et Province

Located at Ban Ku, Wat Ku Phra Ko Na, Village No. 2, Tambon Sakhu. Traveling from Roi Et Province, travel along Highway 215 through Mueang Suang District. Ku Phra Ko Na is located at Ban Ku, Village No. 2, Tambon Sakhu, Amphoe Suwannaphum, Roi Et Province. It is another Khmer architectural site. It is medium-sized, not very large. Ku Phra Ko Na consists of 3 brick prangs on a sandstone base, arranged from north to south, facing east. There is a wall surrounding it and an entrance arch. The central prang is plastered and built in layers. Each layer has a niche for the Buddha in all 4 directions. The front of the central prang on the lower floor is a Phra Phutthabat Shrine, decorated with the original 6 Naga heads in front. The temple built a pavilion to cover the northern prang. Inside, there is a pediment carved with the Ramayana and a carved image of Narayana reclining on the ocean, which is originally located above the front door. In addition, there is a lintel on the front that falls to the floor, showing the image of Shiva sitting on a bull and a column of beautiful women. It is assumed that the original Ku Phra Kona had a Naga bridge and a walkway with female pillars extending from the front door arch to the pond or baray, which is about 300 meters away.
