Century-old Traditional Bakery Pengerang

Pengerang is an area at the southeastern tip of Johor, to the south of Desaru. Kedai Kek Lim Choo Seng is the most famous traditional bakery in Sungai Rengit, Pengerang, Johor. It was founded more than 100 years ago by the family Lim Choo Seng. The bakery now is run by the 3rd generation carrying on the family tradition. The production process is a family affair - everyone is involved in the production chain. I love their Tau Sar Piah (Savoury Mung Bean Paste Biscuit), handmade Lao Po Bing ("old wife cake") and Egg Rolls with Peanuts, really yummy. With only two main streets, it was not difficult to find your way to the shop which is opposite the only Marybrown fast food restaurant in town.
