Starting from Nanchang, you can visit a slow-paced small town over the weekend

- A hidden gem city that can be explored in a weekend. Starting from Nanchang, it takes only one and a half hours by high-speed train to reach here. This place has grottoes, city towers, bell towers, Xin'an River, and small shops everywhere selling crystal cakes and duck heads. This place is Quzhou. Quzhou is famous nationwide for its duck heads and is also known as the only city in Zhejiang that eats spicy food. It is very suitable for a slow-paced city tour because all the attractions are very concentrated, and you can reach them without any long journeys. For food, it is recommended to try some snacks, such as Lao Pei Duck Head (extremely spicy) at Ma Zhandi, crystal cake (actually a drink), Juhua spicy hotpot, Quzong rice dumplings, and baked cakes. These are all highly recommended and suitable for Jiangxi taste. For small restaurants, Yifenli is a good choice, with flavors very similar to Jiangxi cuisine. P1-5 Shuitingmen An old street, it is recommended to go around 4 pm. The city tower closes at 5:30 pm. You can go up the city tower to take photos of the popular spot where Tianwang Tower and the bell tower are misaligned. As night falls, the place becomes lively. You can walk around, take some night shots, and there are performances and night markets along the Xin'an River, which is very pleasant. P6-9 Luming Mountain Cultural District This is the future civil affairs bureau, open all day. The buildings are distinctive, and the glowing heart is quite photogenic. However, the walls made of overlapping tiles and bricks are also worth photographing. I regret going at night; the light and shadow effect during the day when light passes through the gaps should be even better. P10-P12 Longyou Grottoes This is the farthest attraction, taking about 40 minutes to reach. There is an 80 yuan entrance fee on weekends. Personally, I think its historical value outweighs its visual appeal, but it is definitely a great place to escape the summer heat. P13-17 Kong's Southern Ancestral Temple/Quzhou Museum/Chinese Confucianism Museum These three places are all together. The Confucian Temple is very large and is one of the only three Kong family temples in China, with a scenic view at every step. The Quzhou Museum houses a considerable number of artworks and cultural relics, showcasing the history and culture of Quzhou. The Confucianism Museum tells the story of the inheritance and development of the Kong family's southern branch. If you want to travel out of the province from Nanchang, see different scenery and historical culture, and can't find a place to explore in two days over the weekend, Quzhou is definitely a good choice.
