Extending from the Mutong River Bridge to the Lalongcha River, it is a tributary of the Beipan River and is the most magnificent, beautiful, and magical grand canyon in Xuanwei. Hidden away and largely unknown, the Nizhu River Scenic Area comprises the Nizhu River Grand Canyon, the gorge entrance represented by Guanzhaigou, and the secluded Nizhu River Village. The ever-flowing Nizhu River and the towering cliffs on both banks isolate this place from the outside world, keeping it a beautiful and mysterious lost world—a pristine tourist destination. The Nizhu River boasts a unique landscape within the Nizhu River Grand Canyon, featuring soaring golden eagles, bizarrely shaped karst caves, ancient trees clinging to the cliffs, colorful precipices, twin waterfalls cascading hundreds of meters, strangely shaped rocks resembling cow liver and horse lungs, a thousand-year-old Bodhi tree bathed in Buddhist light, the distant and resonant calls of monkeys along its banks, and countless oddly shaped rocks scattered throughout the river.
