Qujing, a livable small city, take a train to the market

Located in Yunnan, Qujing is at the source of the Pearl River, guarding the transportation hub to the Guizhou, Guangxi, and even the inland routes into Yunnan, just over a hundred kilometers from Kunming. The Nankun Railway and Guikun Railway pass through here, with a particularly large number of train services arriving. Departing from Kunming, even by slow train, it takes about 2 hours to reach. Qujing is known as the 'Tobacco Capital of China.' It doesn't have any famous tourist attractions and is rarely noticed by tourists, making it quite niche. However, this small city with a long history and suitable for living is worth a visit, even if just for the food. The street markets in various parts of Yunnan are similar but not identical, with a collection of local foods and folk customs. Compared to checking in at tourist spots, you gain much more. The street markets in Qujing city, if you miss the Thursday or Sunday Zhu Street market, you can at least go to the Hebei Agricultural Trade Market, where the morning market every day is the market day. Outside the market is a clean and tidy commercial street with many fixed stalls, as well as temporary stalls set up by villagers from the surrounding areas. The scale is not large, but you can basically find what you want to buy. Xuanwei ham, Zhaotong dried beef, live chickens from farms, bait blocks, bait threads, blood tofu, cured meat, pickled seasonings, seasonal fruits and vegetables........the desire to buy is very strong! 🍜 Qujing food recommendations: Grilled bait blocks, fragrant rice cakes, steamed bait threads, Zhenyilazi chicken. It's only a 15-minute walk from Qujing station, and I heard the night market is also great to visit. Zhu Street Market: All day on Thursdays and Sundays, you need to go to the old town area and take a bus to get there. At the end of Hebei Commercial Street is Baishi River Park, a nice public square for citizens to relax, with beautiful cherry blossoms blooming in winter.
