My Canadian friend recommended Paillard as the most famous and delicious bakery in Quebec City, so I decided to visit. Paillard is known for its long lines, so I visited at an odd hour, around 4 PM, and was able to buy bread without waiting. I bought a croissant, which is a basic staple of any pastry shop, and a bread filled with pear and chocolate. Quebec City is often called the Europe of North America, and they really know how to make bread like in Europe! The bread was savory, soft, and full of buttery flavor.
