Zhalong Ecotourism Area‖Red-crowned Crane Habitat Wetland

Zhalong Ecotourism Area, located in the suburbs of Qiqihar City, is a picturesque wetland treasure nestled on the southeastern shore of Zhalong Lake, the cradle of the red-crowned crane. This magical land embarked on a journey of protection and development in 1979 and was honored as a national nature reserve in 1987, ranking among the "Top Ten Charming Wetlands in China." Within the area, reeds grow abundantly, and the water ripples with life, forming a vibrant natural picture. The area is rich in flora and fauna, especially the wild red-crowned cranes, which are the most numerous in the world (with a global total of about 2,400, and Zhalong alone hosting over 300). They soar freely here, becoming the soul of the scenic area. Zhalong is renowned for its unique red-crowned crane taming and release performances, earning it the title of "Bird Paradise, Crane Home," and is a model of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. The scenic area has meticulously planned four major areas: the Crane Viewing Platform, the Lakeside Boardwalk, the Wild Training and Flying Area, and the Return Path. These areas not only provide visitors with excellent viewing and photography platforms but are also ideal for leisure and fitness, parent-child interaction, and romantic dates.
