There are more matryoshka dolls here than people. Located at Rossiya Street, Angangxi District, Qiqihar City. Like other small towns in the northeast, the population of Angangxi is dwindling. According to the census from a couple of years ago, there are just over fifty thousand permanent residents. These matryoshka dolls are north of the Angangxi train station, an area formerly known as Daobei. Here, many Soviet-style buildings left from before the liberation have been concentratedly maintained in the past few years, forming the current Rossiya Street. Although the population is decreasing, Angangxi has Neolithic sites, three train stations, and two railway lines, Ping-Qi and Bin-Zhou, crossing each other. Among them, Sanjianfang Station is a major freight station and one of the important marshalling stations in the western part of Heilongjiang. The Sanjianfang Battle was also a significant fight in the Jiangqiao Campaign during the resistance against Japan. As the population continues to decline, it's uncertain if these historical events will still be remembered.
