One-day Tour Guide to Western Sichuan Bamboo Sea around Chengdu

Location: Western Sichuan Bamboo Sea and Pingle Ancient Town 30 minutes by high-speed train from Chengdu! Route from Chengdu: High-speed train: Chengdu to Qionglai Station, about 30 minutes, ticket price 25 yuan/person (prices vary by train) Self-driving: Chengdu to Western Sichuan Bamboo Sea Scenic Area, about 1.5 hours (may be congested on weekends), parking fee 10 yuan Ticket: 60 yuan (57 yuan if bought online one day in advance) Route: Chengdu → Qionglai Station → Western Sichuan Bamboo Sea → Pingle Ancient Town → Chengdu 1. After getting off the high-speed train, transfer to the bus. Turn left out of the high-speed train station to the passenger transport center, buy a ticket to Bamboo Sea, it takes about 40 minutes (6.5 yuan/person). (After buying the ticket, go directly to find the bus and a seat. We didn't have experience and thought there would be seats for everyone, avoid getting on the bus at the last minute and finding no seats). After getting off the bus, walk about 10 minutes to reach the Bamboo Sea Scenic Area. 2. The entire trip in Bamboo Sea takes about 2 hours, 1 hour and 40 minutes to go up the mountain, and 20 minutes to go down. (You can take a slide down for 45 yuan/person, but I think the price is a bit high, it takes less than 5 minutes, and you still need to walk a bit to exit the scenic area). The foot of the mountain is quite cool, and the road is easy to walk. Towards the end, the climb is mostly stone steps (the road is wet, it is recommended to wear non-slip shoes). Going down is quick, fast walkers can reach the bottom in 10-15 minutes. There are few places to buy things along the way, so it is recommended to bring some food or water. After going down, take a yellow tricycle to Pingle Ancient Town (10 yuan/2 people), it is very cool. 3. We arrived at Pingle Ancient Town just in time for lunch. We chose 'Baimo River Restaurant' for lunch. We ordered three dishes for two people, recommended the signature freshly killed fish, it was really delicious. All three dishes were very tasty. The total cost for two people was 99 yuan, which I think is quite reasonable. 4. If you have children or like playing in the water, you can choose Pingle Ancient Town. The water is flowing and relatively clean, much cleaner than the water in the Western Sichuan Bamboo Sea Scenic Area! Note: It is recommended to do sun protection, bring mosquito repellent, and if you plan to play in the water, bring a change of clothes and swimwear (the ones in the scenic area are not very nice and are slightly expensive).
