Jimo was first recorded in classics such as "Strategies of the Warring States" and "Records of the Grand Historian". It was a famous city of Qi during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. It was established as a county in the Qin Dynasty and moved to its current location to build a city in the Sui Dynasty. Jimo's uprightness, Tian Dan's defeat of Yan, Tian Heng's five hundred men, and Guo Xiu's three memorials have made Jimo famous in history. Jimo County has been moved to its current location since 596 AD, and has a history of more than 1,400 years. The entire ancient city was renovated and restored and opened to the public in 2019. The core area integrates ancient culture, special snacks and exhibition halls to create the concept of a cultural commercial capital. Stepping into the ancient city of Jimo, the towering city walls, retro streets and more than 10 memorial archways make people feel like traveling through a thousand years. Dongximenli Street runs across the city. The most complete three-hall old county government in the province, the Jimo Confucian Temple, the carrier of Confucian traditional culture, and the Jimo Wanzihui, a nearly century-old building protected on the original site, witness the vicissitudes of history.
