I've been to Qingdao many times, always with my partner. Either staying at a friend's place or in hotels and homestays. I've stayed in some pretty good homestays, but the prices kept rising. The only time I stayed alone, I wanted to try a youth hostel. Unexpectedly, I ended up staying in a century-old Western-style building! Once you stay at Yuanjili International Youth Hostel, your standards are set for life. No exaggeration, it feels even more comfortable than a hotel. The bed is 1.2 meters wide, the mattress is neither too soft nor too hard, surrounded on all sides, with ventilation. The air conditioner was on all night. Four people in one room, everyone was very quiet. The top bunk is easy to climb—it's a cabinet ladder! No more fear of falling. I slept without dreaming all night; I’ve never been this comfortable at home, haha. The bathroom separates wet and dry areas, the toilet is a smart toilet, and the shower and wash area are very clean. There’s even a lighted makeup mirror. In the morning, rows of girls were doing their makeup in the common area. The key point is the price is the same as other youth hostels, no premium just because of the nice decor. Great value for money, just a 10-minute walk to the subway, not far from all the attractions, and very close to Qingdao Station. It’s convenient to come straight over after getting off the train. There’s a takeaway dining area downstairs, a convenient clothes drying area, and some girls even hang their clothes in the corridor outside. Four beds per room, very private. You can put a lot of things on the bedside shelf. The sheets and duvet covers are changed and neatly made by the staff, you can tell they really care. Men and women are separated on two floors, you need a key card to go up, so security is good. You also need a key card to enter the room. Since I only stayed one night, I didn’t explore more details.
