Qingdao Hotels: Every Frame is a Scenic View

In-depth Experience at The St. Regis Qingdao: Unveiling the Pros and Cons After my exams, I moved from the Hilton in Huangdao to The St. Regis Qingdao in the city center. I had heard that The St. Regis Qingdao is rumored to be the best St. Regis in mainland China, and I finally had the opportunity to experience it myself. 🏘️Room Type/Layout: The hotel was designed by LTW Designworks, the same firm that designed the Grand Hyatt Xi'an and the Conrad Beijing. The hotel lobby is located on the 58th floor. Although not large, it has ample height, the signature St. Regis spiral staircase, and a central atrium. The design details of the lobby's chandeliers, screens, and sculptures are all ocean-themed, aligning with Qingdao's identity as a coastal city. I stayed in a Badaguan Scenic View Room, which was approximately 47 square meters (423 square feet). It featured a very large walk-in closet, which made the living space feel slightly cramped. The soft furnishings were aesthetically pleasing, and the three-dimensional shell-shaped sculpture above the bed was a unique touch. Due to the building's design, there was a gap between the sofa and the floor-to-ceiling windows. The bathroom was not large but had double sinks and a comfortable circular bathtub that could easily accommodate two people. The room offered stunning views, especially of the sunset. Soaking in the bathtub while being bathed in the golden sunset glow was incredibly relaxing. 🛌Amenities/Facilities: The room was well-equipped, with the circular bathtub being a major highlight for its comfort. While no particularly high-end or unique facility brands were mentioned, the overall facilities met my needs and were well-maintained. 🧹Soundproofing/Cleanliness: The soundproofing was excellent; I could barely hear any outside noise, ensuring a peaceful rest. The cleanliness was also commendable. The room was spotless, and the bedding and towels were pristine. 💗Other Tips: 1. Service Experience: The doormen on the first floor were enthusiastic, proactively opening doors and retrieving luggage. The check-in staff were also efficient. However, there were some shortcomings. There was no butler service in the elevator area, some staff members were expressionless, and I had to actively add the butler department on WeChat. There was also no room tour. Overall, the service was good, but my expectations were high due to my experiences at The St. Regis Zhuhai and Changsha. 2. Dining Experience: There was no à la carte menu for breakfast, but the signature Qingdao dumplings were delicious. There was a wide variety of food available, and I recommend choosing a window seat on the west side for beautiful views. 3. Location: The hotel is located in Qingdao's new district, close to attractions like Badaguan and the No.3 Bathing Beach. Although the subway station is about 600 meters away, getting around was relatively convenient. Overall, The St. Regis Qingdao excels in its hardware facilities and location. The service and dining were also noteworthy. While there's room for improvement in service details, my overall stay was enjoyable.
