German Prison Museum Address: No. 23 Changzhou Road, Shinan District, Qingdao, Shandong Province The German Prison Museum in Qingdao is a unique museum that combines a prison building complex and a collection of judicial relics. It covers an area of 8,220 square meters. The prison complex consists of five cell blocks named 'Ren', 'Yi', 'Li', 'Zhi', and 'Xin', as well as a prison workshop. The 'Ren' cell block, which is the old site of the German prison in Qingdao, was built in 1900 and features German castle-style architecture. The other buildings are cell blocks constructed in the 1920s and 1930s. From 1900 to 1995, this complex was continuously used as a prison (detention center). It is currently the only well-preserved European castle-style prison in the country, with rich historical and cultural connotations and precious relic value.
