Luocheng Ancient Town is known as the "Noah's Ark of China", inhabited by seven ethnic groups: Han, Hui, Yi, Manchu, Tibetan, Li, and Miao. The main street of the ancient town, Liangting Street, also known as "Boat-shaped Street", was established in the first year of Chongzhen of the Ming Dynasty (1628), and the old street still retains some of the cultural features of the old Sichuan culture from the Ming and Qing dynasties. In 1982, an Australian replicated it in Melbourne by building a "Chinatown", and since then, Luocheng Ancient Town has become famous overseas.
