Titikaka Lake & Taquile, Blue Paradises

Getting There - These places are located in Peru, near to the border with Bolivia. You can take a one hour and a half hour flight from Lima to Juliaca, and then a one hour bus or taxi to Puno. Attractions - The splendid mountains are part of this charming area, with vast golden flora all over the place. Once you arrive to Puno, the deep blue sky and marvelous blue waters of the Titikaka Lake will take your breath away. Hotels - For a full and outstanding experience, I recommend to stay at the Titilaka Relais & Chateaux Hotel in Plareria, 50 km away from the city of Puno. Food & Restaurants -  The food is mainly based in fish and seafood, although the Hotel Titilaka is an all inclusive experience and they have a gourmet kitchen with varieties of spices, seeds and vegetables from the area. Shopping - Mainly totora souvenirs made from this plant of the lake. Wool extraordinary works made from Alpaca, compose a collection of sweaters, blankets, gloves and other beautiful handcrafts.
