Bangkaru is one of 63 islands in the Banyak Islands, Aceh Singkil Regency, Aceh. Bangkaru Island, which covers an area of ​​15 thousand hectares, is a turtle conservation island which is included in the Banyak Islands Marine Nature Park [TWA/L]. Bangkaru is very strategic for saving turtles from threats. It is located far from residential areas. Every night, up to 30 individuals come to this island to lay eggs. The challenge for turtle conservation in Aceh is not only hunting for eggs, but also hunting sea turtles for their meat. #beaches
