Ancient Hindu temples in Yogyakarta [Prambanan Temples]

This is a World Heritage Site and a highlight of tourism in Yogyakarta, an ancient Hindu temple complex. It is a Buddhist ruin that represents Yogyakarta and was originally built as a Hindu temple, so it has something in common with Angkor Wat in Cambodia. It was built to resemble Mount Sumeru, where the Hindu god Shiva lives. It is officially called the "Prambanan Temple Complex" and collectively refers to temples such as Bubrah Temple and Sewu Temple in addition to Prambanan. It is close to the city and easy to visit. It is said to be a Hindu temple built in the 9th century, but the stone temple, carefully decorated reliefs, and the statue inside that is thought to be a Hindu god were impressive and enjoyable. It is a ruins park, and there are souvenir shops and restaurants. There are buses and rental bikes that run within the ruins park, but you can also take your time walking around. As for transportation, you can access it by Trans Jogja (public bus) that departs from Malioboro Street. The last stop is the Prambanan bus stop, so you can get there without using a taxi. There are also trains and Damri buses. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to walk from the Prambanan bus stop to the entrance of the ruins, but you shouldn't get lost.
