Lower City Castle

#summerdream Prasat Muang Tam is one of the Prasat Makko groups, located in Charakhe Mak Subdistrict, Prakhon Chai District, Buriram Province, approximately 8 kilometers southeast of Prasat Phanom Rung. It is assumed to have been built in the 17th-18th Buddhist century as a religious site for the city or community. Prasat Muang Tam is a stone castle in the Baphuon style, consisting of five main prangs arranged on a single base, surrounded by four ponds. This feature symbolizes the belief in Mount Sumeru, the sacred peak in Hinduism. Prasat Muang Tam has been well restored and preserved. It is currently registered as an important national historical site by the Fine Arts Department, Ministry of Culture.
