A Full-Fledged 2-Day, 1-Night Trip to Prague, Czech Republic 🇨🇿

#TravelItinerary #EuropeTravel I visited Prague, Czech Republic, on a short 2-night, 3-day trip. Because the city is small, our itineraries overlapped a lot during that time, but I'll share a Czech itinerary that's also possible in 1-night, 2-day trips! #. Prague, Czech Republic Day 1 🇨🇿 Wenceslas Square Wenceslas Square, one of Prague's landmarks, is home to a variety of shopping malls and accommodations. Since my accommodation was nearby, I passed by it quite often. On my way back to my accommodation, I naturally came across the National Museum, lit up at night! I find European streets truly beautiful. The sight of European architecture, unlike in Korea, and the trams cruising along the streets fills me with anticipation and excitement for a new travel destination. 😍 🇨🇿 Havel Market On the way to Old Town, you'll find Havel Market. The colorful fruit stalls lining the streets are a sight to behold. I bought a cute Prague opener and magnet here as souvenirs. The busy Havel Market opens at 7 a.m., so it's worth a visit! 🇨🇿 Old Town Square Arriving at Old Town Square, the first thing you'll see is the famous Prague Astronomical Clock. The clock's colors and intricacies add to the beauty of the building. Every hour on the hour, the clock tower starts to move. Crowds flock to the area around that hour, so be sure to observe it carefully. On my first day, I squeezed in with the crowds, but on my second visit, I sat at a restaurant's outdoor table and enjoyed the view leisurely with a beer. 👍 The observation deck at the Astronomical Clock Tower is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., but there's an admission fee! Across from the Prague Astronomical Clock is the Church of Our Lady before Týn, with its striking twin spires. I didn't plan on going inside, but feel free to explore! 🇨🇿 Charles Bridge Charles Bridge is the oldest bridge in the Czech Republic and one of the most beautiful bridges in Europe, connecting it to Prague Castle. There are 30 statues of famous Czech saints, including St. John of Nepomuk, St. Louis, and St. Vitus. The St. John of Nepomuk statue is the most famous. Many people come to make wishes in front of it. Prague's night view is considered one of the three best in Europe, and this is the perfect spot for it. You can see Prague Castle at night from Charles Bridge. ❣️ After enjoying the night view of Charles Bridge, on your way back to your accommodation, take a peek at Old Town Square at night! It offers a completely different atmosphere than during the day. :) 🇨🇿 Kampa Island As you approach the end of Charles Bridge, Prague Castle becomes more and more visible. You'll also get closer to Kampa Island. While you're at it, be sure to check it out! Didn't Kampa Island sometimes call itself the Venice of Prague? It's a small, man-made island with a river flowing next to the building, creating a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere. 🇨🇿 Bredovski Dvur We decided to have dinner at Bredovski Dvur near our accommodation before heading back. It's near Wenceslas Square. The friendly server greeted us in simple Korean. 👋 This restaurant is frequented by many Koreans. It's nice to hear Korean greetings in the Czech Republic. :) I was busy all day, moving around from morning till night, with no time to rest, but a cold Czech beer was a great way to relax. I'm ending my trip with a large Koleño, which tastes like grilled pig's feet with crispy skin and tender meat, and some salty French fries. ❣️ #. Prague, Czech Republic Day 2 🇨🇿 IPPA Café On the second morning of my Prague trip, I started my journey with a hearty Korean breakfast! Today, I'm heading to Prague Castle, but before I do, I'm stopping by a cafe recommended by the Korean guesthouse staff for coffee. It's now called IPPA Café, and it's famous for its pistachio cake. It's not cheap, but it pairs perfectly with my flat white. It's open from 8 a.m., making it the perfect cafe for on-the-go travelers. :) 🇨🇿 Prague Castle B Course Tour Take a taxi to Prague Castle. Prague Castle is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's largest castle and a Prague landmark. Admission to Prague Castle was from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when I visited in October, but this may vary depending on the season. Also, the interior tour, exhibitions, art galleries, and the Changing of the Guard seem to have separate times, so check the schedule carefully! Prague Castle is so large that tickets are divided into Tour A and Tour B. Of course, you can do both. I chose Tour B because I was pressed for time. The B Course Tour is a popular choice among tourists. It consists of the overwhelmingly magnificent St. Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, St. George's Cathedral, and Golden Lane, demonstrating that grandeur can be achieved without flashy colors. Inside St. Vitus Cathedral, you can see Alphonse Mucha's stained glass windows made of broken colored glass, and in Golden Lane, you can visit the studio of the famous Czech writer Franz Kafka! 🇨🇿 Restaurant Černý Orel The Prague Castle tour ends at 5:00 PM, so afterward, we headed back to the Old Town! We stopped by a restaurant near Charles Bridge for a late lunch/dinner, which we missed while visiting Prague Castle. We'll eat here and then head back to see the night view of Prague. We ordered beer and goulash. I was a little surprised to see a whole basket of bread before our meal. The portions were huge. :) 🇨🇿 Prague Castle at Night The night view with Charles Bridge in the background didn't turn out well because of the lack of light, but the night view of Prague Castle from Charles Bridge was truly stunning, sparkling and beautiful. Day 2 of my trip to Prague, Czech Republic, was all about Prague Castle. :) 🇨🇿 Old Town Square at Night On the way back to my accommodation, my last night view spot was Old Town Square. It was a must-see on my way to my accommodation, so I visited it many times during my two-day, one-night trip, both during the day and at night. :) Thanks to the popularity of the Prague Astronomical Clock and the Church of Our Lady Before Týn, this place is always bustling with people, day and night. The night view of Old Town Square offers a completely different atmosphere than during the day. My two-day, one-night trip to Prague, Czech Republic, was packed with walking, sights, and a tight schedule. However, I didn't want to miss a single moment; every second was a joy! 😍
