2024 Prague Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in December)
The ancient and romantic city of Prague is the capital city of the Czech Republic. The whole city has been listed as a World Heritage Site. It is known as the "City of a Thousand Spires" and an "Open Air Museum". With stone-paved roads, it feels as though this is a city where time stands still. The scenery remains practically unchanged from hundreds of years ago. This is a place full of music, art and literature. The city is suffused with a strong literary atmosphere. Friedrich Nietzsche said, "When I sought for a word to express music, I found Vienna; when I sought for a word to express mystery, only Prague came to my mind." Johann Wolfgang von Goethe said "Prague is the prettiest gem in the stone crown of the world...". This is the birthplace of Franz Kafka and where Milan Kundera wrote “The Unbearable Lightness of Being”.

My favorite country, you must come here in autumn!
Unexpectedly, after visiting 30 countries, the Czech Republic is still my favorite country. When I went there that year, it was the National Day holiday. The pace of autumn is slightly faster than that in China. The romance of CK can only be known when you come.
-
Language: Czechs speak Czech, so there may be a little obstacle in language, but restaurants and other places are ok.
Transportation: You can take a train or bus between cities.
Recommended cities: Krumlov (CK), Prague
CK is definitely a treasure town. It is OK to live in the town center. You can walk around the city many times. CK recommends the bell tower, which can overlook the horseshoe bay. Next to the bell tower is the museum, where you can buy a joint ticket for a visit.
Prague recommends the astronomical clock, Charles Bridge, and castle. It is very convenient to live near the astronomical clock or Charles Bridge.
The characteristic of playing in the Czech Republic is "slow feeling". Don't worry about finding a scenic spot or a place to check in. Just let yourself go, have a cup of coffee, watch a performance, or sit in a daze in the square.
-
Friends who don't know where to play in autumn, collect it, the Czech Republic will definitely give you unexpected surprises.
Autumn in Czech
#autumnseason
Czech autumn is equally enchanting! The season typically starts in September and lasts through November. The countryside and cities are adorned with beautiful fall foliage, making it a great time for scenic walks and hikes. Places like Český Krumlov and Prague look especially magical with the autumn colors.
You can also enjoy seasonal activities like visiting local vineyards during the grape harvest, known as "vinobraní," or exploring the many castles and historical sites without the summer crowds. Plus, the cooler weather is perfect for enjoying hearty Czech cuisine, like goulash and roast duck.
Czech Republic: A fairy tale journey in Central Europe.
Located in the heart of Central Europe, the Czech Republic is like a dazzling gem, attracting tourists from all over the world with its unique charm. Not only does it have magnificent natural scenery, but also rich historical sites and a strong artistic atmosphere, as if stepping into one fairy tale world after another.
Prague, known as the "City of a Thousand Spires", is the most dazzling pearl in the Czech Republic. Walking on Charles Bridge, the Baroque-style buildings and ancient towers on both sides seem to tell a thousand-year-old story. The Vltava River flows quietly, perfectly blending the old and the modern of the city. At night, the castle area of Prague is brightly lit, as if in a dreamy fairy tale kingdom.
The natural scenery of the Czech Republic is also intoxicating. The villages and castles in the Bohemian region are scattered in the mountains, like exquisite oil paintings. The town of Krumlov is known as "one of the most beautiful towns in the world". Its unique architectural style and charming natural scenery are fascinating.
In addition, the Czech Republic is also a country full of artistic atmosphere. The Prague National Museum, the Prague National Art Museum and other art halls are home to countless precious artworks, allowing people to appreciate the charm of art while enjoying the beautiful scenery.
The Czech Republic, the jewel of Central Europe, is waiting for every traveler to explore and discover with its unique charm. Here, you can feel the heaviness of history and the depth of culture, and you can also appreciate the magnificence and diversity of natural scenery. Best time in Prague 🚢
#solotravel
Just got back from an unforgettable solo vacation in Prague, and I’m still in awe of this city! 😍 Walking through the Old Town Square felt like stepping into a fairy tale, especially with the Astronomical Clock putting on its show every hour. I climbed the Old Town Hall Tower for around €10, and the views over the city were absolutely breathtaking! 🏰 You can see all those red rooftops and the spires of churches everywhere – it was like looking at a painting.
Charles Bridge was another highlight, even with the crowds. Early morning is the best time to visit if you want to enjoy it in peace. I spent hours wandering through Prague Castle (entrance around €16 for the full tour). The Gothic architecture of St. Vitus Cathedral is stunning, and Golden Lane is so charming with its tiny, colorful houses. 🏡 I also took a stroll through the historic Jewish Quarter and visited the old synagogues and cemetery – it was such a moving experience.
Prague has this magical atmosphere, with every street offering something new to discover. Plus, the beer is amazing and so affordable! 🍺 Already dreaming of my next visit. #trip #Prague #SoloTravel #CzechRepublic #CityViews #Wanderlust
Prague city tour 🗺️

Prague is an absolute dream! Wandering through its cobblestone streets, I felt like I had stepped into a storybook. The Gothic architecture, especially the stunning Prague Castle and the iconic Charles Bridge, is breathtaking. The astronomical clock in the Old Town Square is another must-see (and it’s free to enjoy!). Entry to the castle grounds was around 250 CZK (€10), and the views of the city were well worth it. After sightseeing, I loved exploring the cozy cafés and trying local Czech dishes. Prague has a perfect mix of history, beauty, and charm! #trip #PragueWonders #CzechAdventure #CityofSpires #TravelMagic #Wanderlust
Visitation to the St. Vitus Cathedral
#churches #100waysoftravel
Situated in the Prague Castle Complex, St Vitus Cathedral is the Catholic metropolitan cathedral in Prague. This cathedral was dedicated to St Vitus until 1997, and is a prominent example of Gothic architecture. It is located beside the Prague Castle complex, and thus serves as the place of worship by the Kings and Emperors, and thus containing many tombs of them. Today, it is known as the Metropolitan Cathedral of Saints Vitus, Wesceslaus and Adalbert. The Cathedral added some Renaissance and Baroque characteristics by Nikolaus Pacassi, and a great organ is added at the northern wing. Today, it is a cathedral serves as the tourism spot for both tourists and pilgrims.
The Christmas markets in Prague are particularly beautiful.
The Prague Christmas market is one of the longest-running in Europe, open from the end of November to the end of December. Even after Christmas, you can still feel the festive atmosphere. Walking across the bridge to the old town at night is incredibly romantic.
Must-do activities: Horse-drawn carriage rides from the market center, dinner on a boat.
Transportation tips: The local metro is very convenient.
Local attractions: The Bone Church.
Must-try foods: Street snacks, ice cream, mulled wine, sausages, etc.
3 day Prague adventure 🗺️
#myitinerary
Just got back from a magical 3-day trip to Prague, and I’m still in awe of this beautiful city! 🇨🇿✨
**Day 1:** Kicked things off with a visit to Prague Castle. The views over the city from the castle were stunning, and wandering through the Old Royal Palace and St. Vitus Cathedral was like stepping back in time. I spent the afternoon strolling through the charming streets of Mala Strana, ending with a relaxing boat ride on the Vltava River. The evening was perfect with dinner at a cozy pub in Old Town Square, where I enjoyed some hearty Czech goulash. 🍺
**Day 2:** Spent the morning exploring the Astronomical Clock and Charles Bridge. The clock’s hourly show was a highlight, and the bridge, with its street performers and stunning views, was a great place to people-watch. In the afternoon, I visited the Jewish Quarter and took in the rich history of the synagogues and the Old Jewish Cemetery. Ended the day with a scenic tram ride to Petrin Hill for panoramic city views. 🌉
**Day 3:** Dedicated to exploring the quirky side of Prague with a visit to the Lennon Wall and the bizarre but fascinating Dancing House. I spent some time wandering through Wenceslas Square, soaking in the lively atmosphere. The highlight of the day was a leisurely dinner at a traditional Czech restaurant, savoring some delicious svíčková. 🥨

Prague: Indulge in the Fairy Tale World of Bohemia! 🌍 🇨🇿
Prague is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic. Located in the center of the European continent, Prague straddles the banks of the Vltava River and is a beautiful and ancient mountain city. It is also the first city in the world to be designated as a World Heritage city. Goethe called Prague "the most beautiful city in Europe." 🌍✨
Prague Castle
Prague Castle is a collection of churches, palaces, and courtyards. The castle has three courtyards, several old streets, galleries, gardens, and the larger Czech Gothic church, St. Vitus Cathedral. 🏰
Charles Bridge
Charles Bridge is the only way to the coronation parade of the Czech kings, and it is often said that "you have to cross this bridge to be in Prague." The bridge is also known as "Europe's open-air Baroque statue gallery," with both sides decorated with various sculptures and reliefs. 🌉
Old Town Square
The architecture around the Old Town Square is varied, including the Gothic Tyne Church and the Baroque St. Nicholas Church. The square is now surrounded by restaurants and cafes. The towers of the Old Town Hall around the square offer panoramic views of the old town. 📸🏛️
Wenceslas Square
Wenceslas Square, also known as Prague Square, is Prague's most important and busy trade and social center, day and night. It is located on the north side of Bishop's Square, near the Bistrice River. 🪙🤝

Czech Republic: A Safe Travel Destination in Central Europe
The Czech Republic is known for its affordable prices compared to other European countries. The transportation system is convenient and inexpensive. Even hotel accommodations are reasonably priced, with double rooms costing around HKD 600 per night, and they often feature modern designs. The country also preserves many historical buildings, with the design of Prague's Central Train Station leaving a particularly strong impression on me. The locals are friendly, and most of them can communicate in English.

In Prague's Citywalk, the whole world seems to be singing her praises
🏰 Prague is mainly divided into: Old Town, New Town, Jewish Quarter, Lesser Town, Castle District, and Vyšehrad. The main attractions are concentrated in the Old Town and Castle District, and you can plan 1 to 3 days to explore Prague~
🏰 Old Town, it is recommended to take a day trip or combine it with New Town
📍 Old Town Square
The heart of Prague, where the song 'Prague Square' was filmed. With over 900 years of history, it's common to see performances of dancing and accordion playing
📍 Týn Church
The black spire Gothic building next to the Old Town Square, the black spires are like the devil's castle in a fairy tale world. Upon closer inspection, the black spires are also very exquisite
📍 Old Town Hall
Built in 1338, it was once a royal palace and now serves as a cultural center. You can climb the tower for a 360° panoramic view of Prague's Old Town
📍 Astronomical Clock
The astronomical clock operates from 9:00 to 21:00 every day, with the twelve apostles of Jesus appearing one by one next to the clock on the hour. The clock is still accurate to this day, but be mindful of pickpockets when watching
📍 Charles Bridge
Built in the 14th century, it is the place where Czech kings would pass during their coronation parades. Some say that you haven't really been to Prague unless you've crossed this bridge nine times. Whether it's at sunrise, sunset, or when the night falls, you can see different views of Charles Bridge. During the day, there are many artistic performances on the bridge, and you can also buy special artworks
📍 Powder Tower
A Gothic old city gate built in 1475, it is one of the important landmarks of Prague
🏰 Castle District
The castle was built in the 19th century and is also the location of the royal residence. Here you can find the essence of art from various historical periods, whether it's courtyards, streets, galleries, gardens, or churches, etc. It is recommended to spend half a day to 6 hours exploring
📍 St. Vitus Cathedral
Construction began in 1344 and took over 600 years to complete. It is Gothic in style, with Baroque elements added later. The bell tower here also offers a panoramic view of Prague, not to be missed
📍 Golden Lane
Kafka once wrote many works here, and now this alley is home to many interesting shops
📍 Old Royal Palace
Part of Prague Castle, built in the 9th century. The interior is beautifully decorated, combining a variety of architectural styles. The changing of the guard ceremony held at noon is also quite unique
Prague | It turns out that fairy tale worlds really do exist
I think: if the fairy tale world really exists,
then it must be modeled after Prague.
This city that fits the imagination so well,
riding the red vintage tram,
feels like traveling through the European animations of childhood.
Brick-red roofs and markets,
the bells that chime every hour echo around the castle on the hilltop,
and every street and alley below in the town.
Churches, horse-drawn carriages, vintage cars,
the city center's Old Town Square is bustling,
in the little taverns, it seems as if a knight is sitting,
dreaming back to the classics like 'The Three Musketeers' and 'The Nutcracker'...

Prague is one of the romantic city in the world with great architecture. In the recent trip to Prague, I have been some signature attractions to capture some best moments of the city. For example, the dancing house, the Charles bridge. They are a really impressive architecture design with the colours as well. Moreover, the buildings on the street also let me feel comfortable to walk ! I have also found the Café Galerie on the way to Charles bridge ! The logo of the shop looks artistic .

❤️ The Dancing House, Prague
#fallingseason
Dubbed The Dancing House, Prague’s Nationale-Nederlanden building was designed by Croatian-Czech architect Vlado Milunić and Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry. The deconstructivist, or new-baroque, architecture forms the unusual dancing shape thanks to 99 concrete panels, each a different shape and dimension. The building's proved so popular that it now features on a gold 2,000 Czech koruna coin issued by the Czech National Bank.
The Controversy
The Dancing House in Prague was not an easy sell. The building is located in a city with a long and rich history, and many people were not happy about the new, modern building that was being built.
The traditional architecture of Prague is some of the most beautiful in the world, and many people felt that the Dancing House did not fit in with the rest of the city. There were even protests when the building was being built!
However, over time the Dancing House has become a true gem of Prague and is now one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city.
Why Visit the Dancing House?
The Dancing House is one of the most unique buildings in the world, and it is definitely worth a visit. The building was designed by world-famous architect Frank Gehry, and it is unlike any other building in Prague. The building is also home to several businesses and restaurants, so you can explore the inside of the building as well.

Praha, the city came from the oil painting
Praha, is a must visit city if you loves art. The building was very antique and beautiful, the people (but mostly you can see are tourists) very friendly and enjoy their lifestyle with no rush. They enjoyed music, enjoyed the foods, enjoyed the moment they had.
We spent one day at the old town Prague, all within walking distance and we have the traditions Pork knuckle at Pork’s restaurant (10/10 recommend, must go!)
All the building was so historical, all of them that only appeared in my history book now became real in my eyes
So glad that I have my best time at Prague with the best people here.
A step into the past.
The Charles bridge is an exciting step back into the past. I believe it’s not quite medieval but it’s there or there abouts.
Adorned in sculptures of saints the bridge sits over the Vlatava river which itself is a spectacular site to see.
The historic gateways just seem so at place in a Central European city like Prague.
On the edges of the gates you’ll find coffee shops and restaurants alike.
Along the bridge there are many artists and performers, and if you are lucky enough space for a selfie or two. #prague #charlesbridge #czechia #history
