Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital, Prachinburi

Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital is located on Prachin Anusorn Road, Tambon Thang Ngam, Mueang Prachin Buri District, Prachin Buri Province. The founder was Her Majesty Queen Suvadhana, the Queen Mother. It is a central hospital for Prachin Buri Province and a pioneer hospital in traditional Thai medicine. It uses herbs to treat diseases. There are massages, compresses, and acupuncture. Thai herbs are processed into medicines and cosmetics. In 1909, Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr (Chum Abhaiwong) hired Howard Erskine to build a building to welcome and stay for King Chulalongkorn when he visited Prachin Buri Province. Later in 1990, the Fine Arts Department announced the registration of Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Building as a national historical site. The building was extensively restored and a museum was established to honor His Majesty and the Abhaibhubejhr Traditional Thai Medicine Museum.
