Museum of Armored Weapons in Poznań

The museum was established in 1963-1964 in the barracks in Sołacz. Initially, it was a collection serving as a teaching aid for cadets of the Officers' School of Armored Weapons in Poznań. The first vehicles included in the collection were e.g. IS-2, IS-3, T-34/85, ISU-152. In 2008, the museum's collection of 37 vehicles was entered into the Register of Monuments of Wielkopolska. Start the tour of the museum from the beginning of the history of armored weapons, i.e. around the First World War. Then travel through World War II and immediately after, through the Cold War at the end of the 20th century, to modern times. Each exhibit is described by boards in Polish and English, and in each of the pavilions you can find unobvious flavors such as the autograph of Steven Spielberg himself on the T-55 (the tank played a cameo in his film), a simulation of the control center on the tank, a story about the T-34 with light effects. #poland #museum
