If you want to enjoy breakfast like an American in Portland, visit Fuller's Coffee Shop. It's only open from 7am to 2pm, so it's a great place to enjoy breakfast or brunch. It doesn't have a great view or comfortable seats like expensive brunch restaurants in Korea. However, I was able to enjoy my meal with a comfortable mind when I saw old men drinking coffee while reading the newspaper and old women eating pancakes while chatting with friends. In fact, most of the food on the menu here is delicious. You can't say that any of it is lacking. In particular, the French Toast ($6.95) and the 'Breakfast Steak ($9.75) are really great. It's not neat on a simple plate, but there's no better place to start your trip with a hearty meal. Coffee is perfect for finishing a meal and making plans, as it keeps refilling once you order it. I used to drink coffee here every morning and make plans for the day. Instead of eating the cold bagels provided at the hostel, visit here and try some warm food. It will be the best start to a happy trip.
