Korea's First Overwater Pavilion, Yeongildae Observatory

The Yeongildae Observatory (also known as Yeongil Pavilion) is Korea's first overwater pavilion, located at the end of Yeongildae Beach in Pohang. This two-story structure, built in traditional Korean hanok style, is a striking landmark. Visitors can walk along the approximately 80-meter-long stone bridge (Yeongil Bridge) to reach the observatory, where they can enjoy an unobstructed view of the vast blue sea. The view of Pohang's ocean and cityscape from the observatory is truly breathtaking! There are also spaces to sit and relax, making it a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the calming sight of the water.
