Pingyao Ancient City, with a history of 2800 years, has 4000 traditional buildings

The Ancient City of Pingyao, standing on the Loess Plateau in Shanxi, is one of the most well-preserved ancient cities in China. After more than 2800 years of history, the 2.25 square kilometers ancient city houses over 300 cultural relics and nearly 4000 traditional buildings. Within the ancient city of blue bricks and black tiles, a large amount of traditional culture is actively passed down in daily life. In 1997, it pioneered China's inclusion of an entire ancient city into the World Cultural Heritage list.
